The Union Gallery and Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre are pleased to announce the start of an exciting new Professional Development Series! This series consists of three free workshops geared towards emerging artists and students which aim to build on skills necessary to navigate a career in the arts.

We are kicking off this series with our first workshop, Writing an Artist Statement, which will take place on November 23, 2019 from 1:00-3:00pm at Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre.

Artist statements are often the most difficult and necessary writing that an artist will produce. Crafting a strong artist statement is necessary for communicating your ideas and practice to a wide ranging audience. This workshop will provide tips and techniques for focused and clear writing, from initial brainstorming to the final polished text. Bring in a bio or artist statement you would like to refine, as we will end the workshop with a peer editing session.

This workshop will be led by deneige nadeau, Curatorial Assistant at The Union Gallery.

This workshop is free, but registration is highly encouraged to guarantee your spot. Register by Nov 20 be emailing info@modernfuel.org
