INDIGO - FOR THE LOVE OF BLUE

Two Full Days to enjoy the Art of Indigo Dyeing and the creation of beautiful art cloth for your artwork/learning/creations.

Join passionate Indigo Artist, Bethany Garner for two full days as we join together to enjoy the Indigo Classes. On Day One we focus on preparing the dye vats and working with your dye cloth as you learn Bethany's favourite Shibori and Resist techniques. We will share a busy afternoon together dyeing cloth and building an inventory of beautiful Indigo designs. Shared Indigo vats will be prepared and ready to go upon your arrival. Our second day of Indigo dye cloth work allows for a full day of more dyeing or developing/selecting your Day One dyed cloth for your own original art cloth creations - garments, art quilts or projects of your choice. Sewing machines are welcome. Beginners are welcome, no pre-requisite experience....COME PLAY!

Students are welcome to wear masks while participating in this class. Mask mandates are not currently required, but do be kind enough to protect others where possible.

 

About 

Bethany is a Creativity Studio Artist at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, delivering Fine Arts and Textile Design and Quilting classes since 2020. Her connections to many years with both St. Lawrence College, Kingston and Brockville campuses and recently with Queen's University for classroom education is well recognized. As a now retired Professor in the college setting, Beth's students have moved swiftly into her diploma series and now enjoy her FIBREWORKS KINGSTON programming. In the new series Beth brings to the Tett Centre closely related courses to support her plans for building confidence and skills the Textile Arts for our Kingston Community.
