Fun & Easy Urban Scene Painting

Join Michelle for this full day workshop in a small group size to learn her approach to creating a colourful urban scene of your choice. Your favorite restaurant, home, cottage... anyplace that inspires you. We will use tracers to enlarge your scene onto the canvas so there's no drawing required. Participants will be painting on 16x20" canvases with acrylic paint, all materials are included. Class is limited to 16 students to allow for plenty of one-on-one coaching. BEGINNERS WELCOME! Demos will focus on the importance of composition, value, colour and using large brush strokes to evoke a spirited finished piece of art.

About the Artist 

Michelle Reid is an award winning Canadian artist who has quickly become recognized for her unique abstract-impressionism. Her contemporary landscape paintings in oil are distinct, vibrant, and full of hope. She has been painting for just over 7 years and currently features both contemporary nature and urban subjects in her work, noted for capturing the sunlight through colour but also for conveying a sense of the spirit of a place. Her work shines so bright you’ll want to reach for your sunglasses.
