Open Studio Session with Lisa Leskien

Thursday, June 15, 6-8PM

Join Lisa Leskian for an Open Studio Session in the Creativity Studios' common area! Lisa is a vibrant artist who creates stunning acrylic and oil paintings, as well as colorful linocut prints. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful scenes she encounters, her artwork comes to life with vibrant colors. Lisa is also an experienced instructor, teaching painting, printmaking, and crochet at the renowned Tie One On Creativity bar in Kingston and the Kingston School of Art. She shares her artistic expertise with elementary students in the Limestone District School Board.

In this Open Studio Session, Lisa will be focusing on crochet, but all art projects are welcome. Whether you're interested in landscapes, exploring colors, working on your crochet project or even learning crochet as a beginner, it's a fantastic opportunity to bring an art project and work at your own pace, build connections and receive guidance from one of our talented Creativity Studio Artists.

About Open Studio Sessions

Taking place in the welcoming and intimate atmosphere of the Creativity Studios’ common area, Open Studio Sessions invite beginner and emerging visual artists to explore their arts practice with our Creativity Studio Artists. This program acts as an extension of Tett Tuesdays, with a smaller group and concentrated opportunities for skill sharing and mentorship. At each Open Studio Session, participants bring their own projects to develop. One of our Creativity Studio Artists will be onsite to offer feedback and critiques, share advice and techniques, and answer any questions participants may have.

Open Studio Sessions provide a fun and supportive environment for participants to work at their  own pace and seek advice as needed, rather than a formal mentorship or instructional program.
