** COVID - 19. Thank you for registering for Modern Watercolour: An Exploration in Colour Theory & Negative Painting. I have been looking forward to this sold out class for several months, and I am very sad to announce the class will need to be postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I appreciate your patience and understanding. The Tett Centre remains closed at this time.

It is a difficult time for everyone right now, and it is hard to gauge when things will settle down. In the meantime, I have rescheduled the class for Tuesday, September 22nd 6-9pm. Please check your inbox for further details and instructions. Thank you!
Take your watercolour painting skills to the next level!

In this comprehensive 3-hour watercolour workshop you will take a deep dive into colour theory and negative painting with Danielle Folkerts. You will explore how using colour can impact and elevate your painting practice. Discover how to use different colour schemes, warm and cool colours, and the colour wheel. Through live demonstrations learn how to add depth and richness to your paintings using the fascinating process of negative painting and building up layers.

The class includes live painting demonstrations, a discussion about colour theory and negative painting, workbooks and sample images, and plenty of free-time to paint, practice, and play. You will create 2 unique paintings learning your new skills.

The Modern Watercolours course is perfect for beginners, or experienced artists looking for a fresh perspective. This painting class will help you practice and understand the process of combining multiple techniques and approaches to produce a successful painting from start to finish.

All materials are provided, including Arches watercolour paper. Students are welcome to bring their own paint sets and brushes if they prefer.

"I really enjoyed the workshop last night. It was great to be introduced to watercolours, but more than that it was wonderful to be in a room of lovely people and... painting is SO relaxing! It totally took my mind off work. Thanks for offering your continued help. I'll be sure to share a photo of a future painting!" - Sandra
