The Tett is excited to announce a new partnership with The Centre for Creative Learning! This collaboration offers diverse, inspiring arts workshops available for you to discover in this summer’s Creativity Series.

The Centre for Creative Learning, formally based in Westport, Ontario, is lead by Governor General Award recipient, Angela Elster. Angela also has obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, Research, Leadership and Training in Expressive Arts: Therapy, Education and Consulting at the European Graduate School. Angela recently resigned as Senior Vice President of The Royal Conservatory where she spent three decades developing innovative programs. Her extensive background in education studies and her passion for the arts prompted her to create the CCL.

The centre, which now operates out of Kingston, is working closely with The Tett to achieve corresponding goals of enriching lives through arts integration.

“Both organizations are at the threshold of an exciting new chapter in Creative Kingston!” explains Angela. “The combination of the beautiful Tett facility and a roster of highly experienced, motivational presenters has resulted in a powerful partnership which promises to engage all of Kingston and beyond through inspiration, creativity and collaborative community.”

The workshops offered through this partnership are a part of The Tett’s successful Creativity Series. The Series is best known for featuring the outstanding teachings of Tim Rosillo in his Life Drawing for All sessions. Now fans of the Series are invited to take part in these new, exciting, arts-focused events!

These events include Spa Mind – a powerful lesson in relieving stress through artistic practices, and The Creative Household, sharing ways for families to include arts expression in their daily routines. For those who love food and folklore, learn Southern cooking traditions at Bourbon to Biscuits. Writing From The Body frees the mind using physical activities such as yoga to ignite creativity. Back to You is a seminar to help women bring their life goals to fulfillment through musical and artistic communication. Finally, Dream Art and Life exercises the insight of Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Jung to help participants create an art piece that symbolizes their soul.

“I believe that together our organizations have the potential to contribute to ensuring Kingston becomes the creativity centre of Canada.” says Angela.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Centre for Creative Learning to provide our community with exceptional arts experiences and seminars in self-discovery, connectedness and creative-expression.” says Shannon Brown, Community Engagement Coordinator for The Tett Centre.

These innovative workshops are available this July and August and will be hosted in the Rehearsal Hall of The Tett Centre. Click here for more information and to take part in a class!
