FROM TEA TOWELS TO TAPESTRIES…and many more wonders

If you have been visiting, or watching through the studio window of The Kingston Handloom Weavers and Spinners you have seen some of the Guild members busy preparing for their Annual Fall Sale and Show. There will be much more to see and enjoy beginning Thursday November 10 at 5:00 p.m. through to noon on Sunday November 13, 2017.

This annual event is a showcase of Guild member’s expertise, artistry and innovation.  Individuals may spin fibre and weave cloth, but there are so many different ways to create a finished object with these materials.

You will find blankets – from baby size to BIG!  There will be skeins of handspun yarn, sturdy work socks, mittens, lacy shawls, and tea towels (absorbent and colourful).  There will be items to decorate your home; whimsical items as well as functional.  There will be unique jackets and tops for the discerning dresser.  There will be felted hats and scarves and jackets and more creative wonders.  Come see for yourself.

The sales room is located in the Rehearsal Hall on the 2nd floor of the Tett Centre.

Next door, in the studio, Guild members will be showcasing some unique, treasured handmade items that are not for sale.  These are incredible and unique creations.  Members will be available to answer questions and explain the process of planning and creating these items. There will also be demonstrations of some of the tools and techniques used.

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore and enjoy traditional and innovative creations carefully and thoughtfully made by hand.
