Come join us at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning for a fun-filled event where you can unleash your creativity by mono printing your very own pottery platter and side dish!

This in-person, hands on event will give you the opportunity to learn a new skill while enjoying a relaxing and artistic atmosphere. In this workshop, Elizabeth will guide you through the design process of choosing a colour scheme and teach you how to create a mono print and apply it onto a wet clay slab that you will form into a platter. She will talk about the elements of design, including pattern, colour, line, repetition, and texture. You can bring images or items that you find inspiring to help you in the decision making process. Once your piece if finished it will be fired to 2232°F (1220°C) and will be food safe and ready to use.

All materials will be supplied. All skill levels are welcome. We will be using Cone 6 stoneware clay and coloured slips to create your one of a kind platter and side dish. If you are new to working with clay or have done some pottery before this will be a great introduction to both creating a form from scratch and being able to work with colour and pattern right away without having to bisque fire your piece. All of the design work is done on wet clay so we are able to complete the whole piece in one day.
