Virtual Air-Dry Clay Workshop

Learn how to design and sculpt your own Jewelry Dish and Little Owl Ring Holders with Linda Wolfram Fraser!

In this workshop you will learn how to use air-dry clay while creating small dishes and figurines. Step-by-step you will discover how to sculpt, design, decorate, and finish each piece. Plus, explore various decorating techniques using water-based paints and stencils. Enjoy the process from start to finish and create your own little treasures.

No experience required. Virtual instruction included, via Zoom. Materials not included. Project is suitable for all ages, with adults supervising children. Space is limited, registration must be made online. Please register and secure your spot before purchasing materials.

How can you join a virtual class?

1. Register for the virtual class via Eventbrite. Registered students will receive a Zoom ID and Password to join the class. REGISTER HERE: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/virtual-air-dry-clay-workshop-tickets-105015341714

2. Set up a free Zoom account. https://zoom.us/

3. Check the supply list, and ensure you have the required materials for the class.

4. Get comfortable at home and set up your art making station in advance.

5. Log onto Zoom, enter the ID Code and Password, and join the class on Wednesday, June 10th 10 AM – 12 PM. The class will start right on time.

6. When you arrive, your microphone will be muted. This is to avoid distraction from the sounds coming from everyone's homes. When you want to speak, please unmute yourself and talk. Just remember to put yourself back on mute again when you are done speaking. We want to save the audio quality for the instructor.

7. Get creative and have fun! Tag the @tettcentre and #tettcentre. We’d love to see your creations!

 

Material List:

• Air Dry Clay

• Dish/container with water

• Paint brush

• Craft acrylic paint (any variety)

• Stencils (optional)

• Tooth picks

• Wooden skewers (optional)

• Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe Gloss (optional, can apply later)

 

* Air Dry Clay can be picked up at Linda’s house in Kingston for $10.00, via etransfer. Please contact Linda to arrange payment and pickup. Contact Linda at linda@camdenbraes.com. We are not able to offering delivery at this time.

** Air dry clay can also be purchased at Amaranth Stoneware. It comes in a large 50-pound box, Laguna WC641.

*** If you are unable to access air dry clay before the class, you are welcome to use any clay/Play Dough/Plasticine to sculpt and design. We invite you to use what you have at home! Please note, Linda will only be able to provide drying and finishing details specific to air dry clay.

 

Set Up:

Bring all your materials to the class. If you have multiple people in your household taking the class, we suggest setting up your kitchen table with “art stations” facing the screen. You can use a laptop, tablet/ipad or even your phone to log into Zoom. The instructor will walk you through the proper set up, basic techniques, and the steps required to finish your project. This class is great for beginners. Use what materials you have at home.
