Devin West will guide us through our next roundtable, in Modern Fuel's Main Gallery, on Tuesday February 25.

Let’s discuss current and emerging strategies for how artists and arts communities are disrupting the response to the complex issues we face. What does disruptive artistic intervention look like? Is disruption needed to transform our communities and drive change forward?

In the round table discussion series, a local artist, arts administrator, or arts academic brings forward a topic or burning question they want to discuss. They speak for 5 - 10 minutes to introduce the subject, and the rest of the session is an open conversation.

Devin West is a gender-fluid, queer, feminist, settler artist-scholar from northern Saskatchewan. Having an MA in gender studies and being a doctoral candidate in cultural studies, Devin's art practice is deeply informed by their learnings of cultural and social identities. Using themes of suspension, tension, and disruption, Devin's conceptual installations actively challenge and destabilize notions of femininity and masculinity as stable signals of binary bodies.
