Mom and Me Virtual Paint Date

Bond with Mom this Mother’s Day! Join Alice Melo for a relaxing afternoon of painting online on May 10th 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Explore acrylic painting, learn new techniques, and create your own customized floral masterpiece, all in the comfort of your own home. The whole house is welcome to partake!

No experience required. Virtual instruction included, via Zoom. Please order 1 ticket per household. Project is suitable for ages 8+. No experience required. Space is limited, registration must be made online.

 

How can you join a virtual class?

1. Set up a free Zoom account. https://zoom.us/

2. Register for the via Eventbrite. Registered students will receive a Zoom ID and Password to join the class.

3. Check the supply list, and ensure you have the required materials for the class.

4. Get comfortable at home and set up your art making station in advance.

5. Log onto Zoom, enter the ID Code and Password, and join the class on May 10th at 1:00 PM. The class will start right on time.

6. When you arrive, your microphone will be muted. This is to avoid distraction from the sounds coming from everyone's homes. When you want to speak, please unmute yourself and talk. Just remember to put yourself back on mute again when you are done speaking. We want to save the audio quality for the instructor.

Material List:

1. Acrylic Paint

- Raw Umber (Brown)

- White

- Blue

- Cadmium Yellow Light

- Cadmium Yellow Deep Hue

- Orange

2. Canvas

- Any size, Alice will be using 9”x12”

- You can also use canvas board, paper, primed board etc

3. Brushes

- Larger flat or filbert (background)

- Small filbert brush

- Liner or small round brush

- You can use any small, medium and large brushes you have at home

4. Water Container (yogurt container or jar)

5. Palette or Foam Plate

6. Paper Towel

 

Set Up: We recommend laying down a table cloth or plastic. Bring all your materials to the class. If you have multiple people taking the class, we suggest setting up your kitchen table with “art stations” facing the screen. You can use a laptop, tablet/ipad or even your phone to log into Zoom. Alice will walk you through the proper painting set up, and how to create the image step-by-step. This class is great for beginners of all ages. Use what materials you have at home.
