Through quick gesture drawings the group will be exposed to a series of warm up techniques. The class will then develop a series of group drawings that break down figure drawing into four distinct fundamentals (line, shape, tone, and detail). Each student will then have the opportunity to complete an inside out drawing in which they will be encouraged to think about how they draw volume and mass. The session will wrap up with individuals choosing from one of the following tonal studies:

  1. White charcoal on black paper
  2. Take away drawing (students will remove charcoal from the sheet of paper with an eraser)
  3. White and black paint on cardboard
