Inspiration: SUMMER FIBRE ARTS CAMP with Bethany Garner

Join us for a 5-day classroom study program and "all about creativity" retreat for local and distance fibre arts enthusiasts. Experience the joy of working on new projects while immersing yourself in a supportive and inspiring environment. Each day from Sunday to Thursday, we will introduce a new art-focused project led by Bethany Garner, a seasoned Fibre Arts and Textile Instructor with 30 years of experience.

During the program, we will explore various techniques such as Cloth Dyeing, Screen Printing, Natures Eco-Printing, Rust Dyeing, and Making Artist Journals for documenting and sharing our artistic journey. This workshop provides the perfect opportunity for artists to come together, learn, and grow. We'll have both indoor and outdoor sessions at the Tett Centre, allowing us to fully enjoy the creative spirit of summertime art play.

Registered students will receive a supplies list, and the instructor will provide many of the necessary materials. However, students should bring their preferred art supplies, personal "making" tools, table and floor coverings, and any food and drinks they may need throughout the day in the classroom.

Beginners to Intermediate | Ages 18+

Tickets

CA$295.00 | Supplies provided + Bring your own | Click here to purchase your tickets  | 18 spots available

(Please note that there are no refunds but students may pass their Eventbrite or e-transfer paid tickets to a friend or family member.)

We support the wishes of students who would like to wear their masks as we are working together if they like. Everyone will have their own work table, carefully distanced during the week of classes.

The Tett Centre is an accessible building, with elevators, automatic doors, and large single-stall accessible restrooms on every floor. Onsite parking is available using the Honk App

About the Artist

Bethany Garner, Instructor, has been sharing her favourite techniques in the classrooms of Universities, Guilds and groups since 1996, and brings her students a number of mixed-media, and cloth based colouring workshops based on the application of easy to use Procion MX Dyes, acrylic paints, inks, and silk paints for cloth, fibres and threads. Bethany’s courses are technique based, fun and developed to ensure that every student is accepted and feels included, supported and making their way forward on their own creative path.
