Basket Making Workshop

We will use a variety of materials to construct a rib basket in this one day workshop which is suitable for beginners to more experienced basket makers. Students will learn how to use hoops as a starting point for the basket and then how to insert ribs to make a frame to weave around. Their basket could start with two hoops to make a basket with a handle OR one hoop to make a handleless one. Students will be able to choose from commercially prepared materials or wild grapevine to make their hoops. They will also have a choice of weaving materials.

If time permits, we will use the same technique to make a much smaller more decorative basket.

Cost: $72.00 for members, $84.00 for non members

All materials will be provided at a cost between $5.00 and $15. 00 depending on the materials used.
