About this Event

Have you always wanted to try your hand at IMPROVISATIONAL STITCH?

This is the most fun for those who love to create with thread and needle - filling a piece of fabric with random stitching and using the skills you will learn and adapt in this workshop to create all new original Artwork!

- Students will receive a ground cloth of linen and will be provided with needles, a threads package.(NOTE: Small scissors of your choice would be great to tuck in your bag for class!)

- In this class, we explore some traditional and familiar stitches, and move quickly into creating modifications to allow for IMPROV stitching. Once students are comfortable and on their way as the afternoon proceeds, Bethany will share more complex stitches that will support and enhance your design play.

- Taking the artwork in YOUR own direction and adding some creative, original colour and stitch will give you the confidence to create artwork that can be framed or made into home décor pieces for your home or gifts. - This class is for those who have experience with basic stitches, but EVERYONE is welcome... we learn from each other and take the artwork home with the space available being a play surface for stitch exploration.

- Included in your classroom project kit will be an information-filled handout package and you will be able to use the needles and thread which are provided for the class to share and take home for continued stitching. Small hoops will be available in the classroom for use during the workshop.

What you need to bring:Enthusiasm for creating all-new original work
