The Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning is a charitable arts organization that operates the City-owned heritage JK Tett building on Kingston’s waterfront. Together with our tenant arts organizations and artists, and our neighbour Queen’s University’s Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, we are Kingston’s creative hub, a treasured site of creation, presentation, learning and participation, and a welcoming incubator for the region’s emerging talent.
The Tett Centre offers high-quality arts-focused experiences for all ages and levels of ability. Complementing the myriad programs presented by our resident arts organizations and artists, we foster collaboration through innovative programming and public events. We nurture the livelihoods and professional growth of artists and cultural organizations. Most importantly, the Tett offers affordable built-to-purpose spaces for many of Kingston’s leading cultural groups, ensuring they continue to thrive. Our vision of connecting communities through the arts reflects the wonderfully diverse community that surrounds us.
As a registered charity, the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning relies on donations, sponsorships, grants, program fees and revenue from space rentals to fund operations and community-focused programming. This year and last, program and rental revenue have been drastically reduced by COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and, like so many others, we have incurred new expenses to safely keep the Tett open to the public.
Knowing art experiences are more important than ever, we are turning to friends like you for support. Your gift this year will ensure the future of our work in sustaining Kingston’s arts scene as an important contributor to Kingston’s economic prosperity and cultural well-being. Individual and corporate donations to the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning allow us to offer community programs like our weekly Kids Creativity Club for families, Tett Tuesdays, Arte el Martes, Adult Creativity Series, the Tett summer arts intensive for youth, and community gallery shows.
When you donate to our charitable arts organization, you become part of a community that believes everyone deserves a place that fosters imagination and encourages creativity. With your help, the Tett Centre will continue to be an accessible and vital arts hub for years to come. To offer sustaining support, choose our monthly gift-giving option on the form below.
