The Jinsha: Echos of Gushu

Ancient Shu is one of the origins of Chinese culture over 5000 years ago. This exhibition will explore the fascinating artifacts and relics through art objects and interactive displays unearthed from the Jinsha archaeological site in the Sichuan province of China, providing insight into the advanced craftsmanship and societal development of the ancient Shu people. Our exhibition will feature interactive activities led by the queen’s students, who will provide insightful explanations and further explore the rituals of Ancient Shu culture and its significance and influence in the development of East Asian culture.

About

Echos of Gushu exhibition is part of the “Jinsha: The Journey” musical group, which is the first Mandarin musical adapted and created by a student theatre troupe in Canada. Set against the backdrop of the ancient Shu civilization in China, the musical tells the timeless romantic story of the protagonists Jin and Sha as they traverse through thousands of years.
