Peng Yuan Wang's solo painting exhibition in the Tett Gallery in September 2021

In his solo exhibition, It's Light Tempered, It's Turmoil Submerged, Peng Yuan Wang will bring his recent paintings in oil and water-based materials. Some of them are huge pieces. As the name of this exhibition suggests, his awareness of nature and self will be perfectly presented in the paintings.

The name of the exhibition comes from the writings of the traditional Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching. It means that people should be unobtrusive and uncontested in the world.

Peng’s works are more about the relationship between people and nature, using different materials to express the mountains and landscapes in his mind. What is seen is not real but exists only in everyone's understanding and dreams.

During this exhibition, Peng Yuan Wang will paint live, a process that will last seven days, and he will paint huge landscapes on 3 meters of silk. Pure natural mineral pigments and traditional brushes will be used to express the details of nature, a natural landscape that is artificially created and not real. Through such performances, he hopes to bring new ways of understanding to the audience, understanding our communication and communication with our spiritual selves.
