Curious about giving worn clothing a new life through visible mending? Join Tett Artist-in-Residence Lee Jones for a hands-on workshop exploring the connections between textiles, weaving, and computing.
Participants will learn how to read and translate weaving patterns into decorative woven patches that can be used to repair and personalize clothing and other textiles. Lee will introduce the historical relationship between weaving and computing and demonstrate how digital weaving tools can be used to design your own visible mending patterns.
No previous experience with weaving, mending, or digital tools is required. Beginners are welcome!

About the Artist
Dr. Lee Jones is a digital media and fibre artist who creates interactive textiles. Her practice brings together craft, technology, and community-based making, with a focus on developing DIY tools that help people create interactive and responsive textiles.
Lee regularly leads e-textile and fibre arts workshops in galleries and makerspaces and creates interactive, participatory artworks that invite people to explore technology through hands-on making.
