Join us at the Tett for three full days of free events celebrating Culture Days!

FRIDAY

Daybreaker Dance Party! (With Kingston Arts Council and The City of Kingston)
6:30 – 8:30 am
Malting Tower
All ages

This is the first Culture Days event in the country for 2015! Help us launch the weekend with a 
fun, come-as-you-are dance party. Arrive in a costume, dance togs, or just as yourself. Shake up your wake up with DJ Paul Vee. Healthy smoothies and light refreshments will be for sale by Juicy Kik. Brought to you by The Kingston Arts Council and the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning.

Creative Nature - Using Earths Elements To Make Art with Julie Davidson Smith

Ages 16+

Teens and adults are invited to explore this multi-media workshop with award-winning artist Julie Davidson Smith. Come and play with acrylic paint on wood and canvas - explore using twigs, drift wood, stones, yarn and images to create works of art rich with textured surfaces inspired by nature.  

Urban Illustration with Curtis Daviduke

Using collage, mixed-media, paper, pens and small framed wood blocks create your own urban world with Mixed Media Artist Curtis Daviduke.

Life Drawing for All with Tim Rosillo

Watch or take part in this lively life drawing group. Tim Rosillo will guide you in gesture, line and form. Meet the artists and sign up for the new Tett life drawing classes!

Exploring Textures with Patricia Van Asparen

All Ages

Each person or group of people will be able to add clay textures and beads to a tile. For sunday the entire piece will be displayed on a table. After which it can be hung after it dries and is varnished in a week or two.  Eventually, if we like the result can use it to display in one of the common areas at the Tett.  Everyone likes to see their work hung for others to see!

Surreal Cities with Katharine and Phoebe

All Ages

Wander into the surreal world of the cardboard city in this interactive and collaborative installation inspired by German artist Kurt Schwitters. We’ll be building a Merzbau inspired habitat, complete with DIY magazine cutout characters. Designed to be challenging for all ages.

Worry Dolls with Yessica Rivera Belsham
2:30 – 4:00 pm 
Creativity Studio Common Space
All Ages

The mini doll is thought to worry in the person's place, thereby permitting the person to sleep peacefully when placed under pillow. Come make your own!

The Kingston Potters Guild will have open studio drop in with hands on activities Saturday and Sunday from 12-5

Modern Fuel is open regular hours Friday and Saturday and Sunday 12-4

The Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club will have open studio from 12-5 Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday

The Kingston Arts Council will be open Saturday and Sunday from 1-4
