Introduction to Spinning on a Wheel

In this two-day workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of spinning yarn on a wheel.

• Day 1: Learn how to use a spinning wheel to produce a singles yarn.
• Between sessions: Time to practice and build confidence.
• Day 2: Learn how to ply yarn to create a balanced 2-ply, and explore how colour can be used in yarn design.

Students may bring their own spinning wheel* or arrange to borrow a Guild wheel (with a deposit) to take home and practice between sessions.

*Please note: if bringing your own wheel, it must be in good working order, as there will be no time in the workshop to make significant adjustments.
