Cleah Bunting, Lost at Sea with Abstract Shapes

Exhibition Opening: Wednesday, 5 December, 6-7 pm

About the exhibition: These highly simplified abstract sea and water paintings are the direct result of a passion for painting “en plein air” and an intense period in Cleah Bunting’s my life. The goal in creating these was to pick out a few of the best colours that are along the shores of The St. Lawrence while also making them visually stunning. The triangle in a few of them represents a sail boat caught up in the wilds of “the sea” = life.

About the artist: Cleah Bunting studied at The Florence Academy of Art in 2004 and since then has been trying her best to forget those teachings. After Italy, she spent a few years working and studying in New York, New Mexico and England seeking more modern influences. Her works can be seen in various private collections and group shows which includes a very successful Toronto Outdoor Show in 2013. She currently lives and works in Kingston.
