About the Artist

Distinctive and Bold

Michelle Reid is a Creativity Studio Artist at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. Her oil paintings are a contemporary approach to post-impressionism that will spark emotional memories of catching the perfect light in familiar places. She deconstructs a scene into bold and confident brushstrokes grounded in the drama between light, shadow and saturated colours that shine so bright it will make you reach for your sunglasses!

Artist Statement: For me, living a passionate life through art is the greatest creation. The chase of new reference material fuels my sense of outdoor adventure, the adventure feeds my spirit and connects me to the earth, and the support of collectors keep it all going. This symbiotic relationship is the springboard to capture the spirit and excitement of places in hopes of inspiring happiness, hope and joy.
