Modern Fuel presents an interactive workshop hosted by our current Program Coordinator and musician/artist Kirk Kitzul. Introduction to Sound+Sampling on Audacity will introduce creators of all skill levels to the free, open-source audio-editing software Audacity. In this workshop, participants will learn the basic functions of Audacity and obtain the skills needed to create a podcast, build a soundscape, treat field recordings, and prepare a sample. Attendees are encouraged to pre-download Audacity, follow along on their personal computer, and bring any sound recordings they want to experiment with. This workshop focuses on pre-recorded sounds and will not directly address recording. There will be computers for participants to share if they are unable to bring a laptop.

Audacity is available for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. Download here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

This workshop is pay-what-you-can and we encourage you to RSVP by emailing instructor Kirk Kitzul at kwkitzul@gmail.com to express your interest in participating. Please put "Modern Fuel Workshop" in the subject line of your email.

Join us on July 31st at 6pm to learn more about getting your audio project off the ground with Audacity!
