Nova Scotia publisher Boularderie Island Press is presenting an evening of readings and book launches by four of its authors during a three-city tour that includes Peterborough, Kingston and Cobourg.

Kingston writer Sally Barnes, the author of Laughed Till They Cried will read from her latest novel Unleashed which was published last autumn. Unleashed follows a group of loyal dog owners who discover that their favourite dog park in Toronto may be sold due to the politics of some unscrupulous city planners. Peterborough writer T.E. (Tim) Wilson will read from his just published Wild Dogs of Mexico, the second book in his Detective Sánchez novel series. OUTtv announced earlier this year that the Detective Sánchez novels will be developed into a television series. Set in and around the sunburnt landscape of Mazatlan, Mexico, the serialized one-hour drama series follows Ernesto Sánchez, a transgender Mexican-Canadian private detective. Bill Conall, who received the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour for an earlier novel will read from his recently released anthology of short fiction Some Days Run Long. Mona Knight is the author of the Fortune Saga series of novels. The first in the series of westerns, Banjo Flats, was published last year and follows the adventures of a young woman, Fortune, who reluctantly becomes a gunslinger tasked with cleaning up the frontier town of Banjo Flats. Both Bill Conall and Mona Knight were born in Ontario and reside in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
